The Financial and Consumer Services Commission of New Brunswick issued a reminder that businesses and other entities must review their records for unclaimed money or other monetary property and, where it cannot be returned to the rightful owner, report it to and deliver it to the unclaimed property program at FundsFinderNB.ca under New Brunswick’s Unclaimed Property Act. The annual reporting period runs from 1 January to 31 March and mandatory reporting applies to almost all businesses and organisations, including small businesses, non-profits and government entities. After reporting, holders must remit the monetary property to the program once they receive an invoice, and can subscribe to email notifications for program updates and reporting reminders.
