Thailand’s Office of Insurance Commission (OIC) released first-half 2025 statistics on licensing and renewals for insurance agents and brokers, highlighting an increase in repeat renewals and urging wider use of its e-Licensing system and the “ForSure” intermediary application to improve data accuracy and enable public licence verification. Across January to June 2025, total new-licence applications and renewals reached 129,606, up 944 (0.73%) year on year. New licences totalled 46,987, comprising 32,907 life agents, 1,474 non-life agents, 5,499 life brokers and 7,107 non-life brokers, while renewals totalled 85,807; first-time renewals exceeded 30,126 and fourth-time (or higher) renewals exceeded 21,818. The OIC encouraged intermediaries to register and validate their details via e-Licensing and the ForSure app, and directed consumers to verify a seller’s licence via OIC’s online channels (including its Line account and the ForSure app); if no record is found, consumers were advised to treat the person as unlicensed and refrain from transacting, and to pay premiums directly to the insurer and obtain the insurer’s receipt.
