Indonesia's Financial Services Authority, together with the Ministry of Finance, Bank Indonesia and the Indonesia Deposit Insurance Corporation, published a joint release on the LIKE IT 2025 (Literasi Keuangan Indonesia Terdepan) programme, positioning it as an inclusive financial literacy initiative aimed at helping scouts with special needs and other young participants build financial independence and begin planning through saving and the use of investment products. LIKE IT is organised under the Coordination Forum for Development Financing through Financial Markets and has been run routinely since 2021 to improve financial literacy and broaden the retail investor base. The 2025 opening was aligned with the 2025 National Special Needs Scout Camp, with around 3,000 participants aged 16–19 and 21–25, and included a “Leaders Insight” session featuring the four institutions’ leaders to encourage saving, disciplined money management and prudent investing. The release cited the 2025 National Survey of Financial Literacy and Inclusion, which put Indonesia’s financial literacy index at 66.46% and financial inclusion at 80.51%, with the 15–17 age group at 51.68% literacy, and highlighted OJK’s Setara guidance to support equal access to financial services for persons with disabilities. The Indonesia Deposit Insurance Corporation reiterated deposit insurance coverage of up to IDR 2 billion per depositor per bank, subject to conditions including the deposit being recorded in the bank’s books and the interest rate not exceeding the insured rate. A series of LIKE IT 2025 activities is set to be held in rotation by the forum’s member institutions as a channel for young people to learn about financial products and services described as safe and measurable.
