The Thailand Taxonomy Board, which includes the Department of Climate Change and Environment, the Bank of Thailand, the Thailand Securities & Exchange Commission and the Stock Exchange of Thailand, has jointly developed Thailand Taxonomy Phase 2 and made it available as a reference for classifying environmentally sustainable activities. Phase 2 covers the agriculture, construction and real estate, manufacturing, and waste management sectors. The taxonomy extends Phase 1, which focused on the energy and transportation sectors. Development of Phase 2 included stakeholder consultations starting in February 2024 and a public consultation from 28 October 2024 to 10 January 2025, with feedback incorporated into the final version, including suggestions to reflect additional environmental standards or certification schemes and practices suited to the Thai context. The final Thailand Taxonomy Phase 2 can be downloaded from 27 May 2025 via the websites of the Department of Climate Change and Environment, the Bank of Thailand, the Thailand Securities & Exchange Commission and the Stock Exchange of Thailand, with other access channels to be announced. The Board is also co-organising a seminar, “Thailand Taxonomy 2.0: Driving the Thai Economy towards sustainability”, on 27 May 2025, with livestreaming via the official Facebook pages of the four bodies.
