U.S. Senator Elizabeth Warren, Ranking Member of the Senate Committee on Banking, Housing, and Urban Affairs, announced a Spotlight Forum to examine the Trump Administration’s alleged rollback of fair housing and civil rights enforcement at the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) amid a housing affordability crisis. The forum will feature testimony from former HUD civil rights attorneys Paul Osadebe and Palmer Heenan, described as whistleblowers who were fired after raising concerns, alongside speakers from the National Fair Housing Alliance and the Tennessee Fair Housing Council. Warren has formally invited HUD Secretary Scott Turner to testify and has previously called on HUD’s Office of the Inspector General to launch an independent investigation into the whistleblowers’ allegations. The session is scheduled for 3:30 PM on January 13, 2026, in the Dirksen Senate Office Building (G-50) and will be livestreamed.
