The Central Reserve Bank of El Salvador reported that its travelling financial education initiative, Mi Viaje Financiero, has exceeded 50,000 student participants nationwide since its launch on 20 May 2024, aiming to build practical financial skills among children and young people. The mobile programme has visited 212 schools and parks across 89 districts, covering both urban and rural areas. It uses interactive stations with virtual reality headsets, touchscreens, mobile devices and simulations to teach topics including ATM use, electronic transfers via Transfer365, payments using the NPE code, QR and point-of-sale (POS) transactions, and other everyday digital financial services; the bank framed the initiative as part of a broader public-policy push to support financial inclusion.
