Chile’s Financial Market Commission (CMF) has launched a nationwide financial education campaign to inform citizens about moving to more secure authentication methods as part of efforts to reduce fraud amid increasingly sophisticated financial crime. The initiative supports the modernization of authentication by encouraging a shift away from printed tools such as coordinate cards toward digital solutions with stronger security and validation. The campaign began in the Ñuble Region with talks aimed at senior citizens and students, focusing on practical fraud-prevention steps and safer navigation of digital environments. Commercial Engineering students from the University of Concepción will be trained and then deployed to help disseminate the information, while CMF outreach will also cover the municipalities of El Carmen, San Nicolás, San Carlos, and Chillán.
