The Central Bank of Colombia published its Regional Economic Bulletin for the Central Cafetera region covering the fourth quarter of 2025, reporting that the regional economy continued to expand year on year but at a slower pace than in the previous period, alongside easing inflation and lower unemployment. The bulletin highlights a moderation in vehicle and motorcycle registrations, imports and freight transport toward year-end. Agricultural area harvested and output increased overall, supported by greater supply of perishable foods and animals taken to slaughter, while rice and coffee harvests fell due to earlier adverse weather; despite lower coffee collection, the value of coffee exports rose on higher international prices. In construction, the area under construction increased, particularly for residential projects, but new project starts declined; sales of new housing rose, especially in the No VIS segment, which was associated with more launches in that category. Employment increased and unemployment rates fell across the region’s cities except Ibagué and Armenia, with higher labour demand reported in accommodation, manufacturing and transport.
