The Taskforce on Nature-related Financial Disclosures (TNFD) announced a global adoption campaign running to COP30 in Belém, Brazil, aimed at increasing the number of organisations committing to voluntary nature-related reporting aligned with the TNFD recommendations. With the start of the campaign, TNFD added FY2026 as a new financial year option for companies to indicate their timeline for getting started. TNFD reported over 530 TNFD Adopters as of March 2025 and more than 1,700 members in the TNFD Forum, alongside 20 national or regional Consultation Groups. At CBD COP16 in October 2024, TNFD said commitments to start reporting in line with its recommendations exceeded 500 companies and financial institutions across 54 countries or areas and 62 of 77 SASB SICS sectors, with publicly listed companies representing over USD 6.5 trillion in market capitalisation; 129 registered financial institution adopters represent USD 17.7 trillion in assets under management and include 25% of global systemically important banks. TNFD also highlighted demand for capability-building support and referenced its Learning Lab and Trainer Portal, and restated that its approach aligns with the Global Biodiversity Framework and operationalises Target 15 on corporate reporting. TNFD plans to formally announce new adopters since COP16 at COP30 in November 2025 and will host a global adoption webinar on 2 April 2025 at 9am BST.
