The Insurance State Supervision Service of Georgia co-organised the Georgian International Insurance Conference in Batumi with Media Agency XPRIMM, bringing together more than 100 participants from 19 countries to discuss priorities for Georgia’s insurance market and the evolving regulatory and supervisory agenda. The Head of the Service, Davit Onoprishvili, addressed the conference, covering market conditions and development strategy, regulatory change and harmonisation with international practice, digital transformation and artificial intelligence, consumer protection and financial literacy, and the integration of sustainability and ESG standards. The programme included high-ranking representatives of supervisory authorities from seven countries and speakers linked to the International Association of Insurance Supervisors (IAIS), including Manuela Tswaimüller, Special Advisor to the IAIS Secretary-General, reflecting Onoprishvili’s participation on the IAIS Implementation and Evaluation Committee and Executive Committee. The event was led by Professor Karel van Hule, who periodically advises the Service on Solvency II, and also featured remarks from the Minister of Finance and Economy of the Autonomous Republic of Ajara and the presentation of XPRIMM Insurance Profile Georgia FY2024, a market report for international stakeholders.
