The Iceland Ministry of Finance and Economic Affairs has published an Icelandic translation of the summary chapter of a report on Iceland’s options in currency matters. The report, released in May, examines the advantages and disadvantages of maintaining an independent currency versus joining a larger currency area such as the euro area, and is intended to support informed debate on Iceland’s future currency arrangements. The report was prepared by four foreign experts led by Catherine L. Mann. The ministry said the Icelandic translation makes the report more accessible to Icelandic readers, and that four chapters of the report will also be published in Icelandic translation later in the summer.
