The Bank of France announced that it will launch the Financial Education Week on 16 March 2026 with partners in France’s national economic, budget and financial education strategy (EDUCFI), with a programme of conferences, roundtables and workshops on economic issues and managing personal and professional finances. The initiative is the French arm of the OECD’s Global Money Week and aims to strengthen budgeting and financial skills through activities across the country. The programme is built around the theme “Money, let’s dare to talk about it”, intended to encourage open discussion and improve access to clear and reliable information, including to help people protect themselves against misinformation and scams. A January 2026 CSA survey conducted for the Bank of France using the OECD’s standardised questionnaire reported a French financial literacy score of 12.82 out of 20, up from 12.45 out of 20 in December 2023. Several hundred free initiatives are planned in mainland France and overseas territories, with priority audiences including young people, financially vulnerable groups and entrepreneurs, alongside a broader focus on day-to-day decisions on budgeting, credit, insurance and savings. Key public events include an opening day at the Bank of France headquarters in Paris on 16 March, a conference on cryptoassets at Citéco on 19 March, award ceremonies on 20 March in partnership with the Ministry of National Education, and an online closing event on 25 March focused on Bank of France services that support and secure businesses. Sessions are offered in person and online, with registration via the dedicated event programme.
