The Bank of Greece published final 2025 travel services data showing a surplus of EUR 20,287.8 million, up 8.0% from EUR 18,787.0 million in 2024. The increase reflected travel receipts rising faster than travel payments, with receipts up 9.4% to EUR 23,626.8 million as inbound non-resident traveller flows increased by 6.4% to 43.3 million and average expenditure per overnight stay rose 7.7% to EUR 96.6. Average expenditure per trip increased by 2.8% to EUR 545.5, while the average length of stay fell by 4.5% to 5.6 nights and total overnight stays still rose by 1.6% to 244.7 million. Receipts from EU27 residents increased by 6.0% to EUR 12,689.2 million and receipts from other countries rose by 15.0% to EUR 9,918.0 million, with notable gains from the United Kingdom, the United States and Germany. Cruise passenger receipts rose by 4.9% to EUR 1,166.3 million, supported by increases in cruise ship arrivals, passengers and overnight stays ashore. By region, Attica recorded the highest number of visits in 2025, while the Southern Aegean accounted for the largest shares of total travel receipts and overnight stays.

The Bank of Greece reported that the 2025 travel services surplus rose 8.0% year-on-year to EUR 20,287.8 million, driven by a 9.4% increase in travel receipts to EUR 23,626.8 million as inbound non-resident traveller flows and average expenditure per overnight stay increased. Receipts grew from both European Union (27) residents and other countries, with notable gains from the United Kingdom, the United States and Germany, while Attica recorded the highest number of visits and the Southern Aegean the largest shares of total travel receipts and overnight stays.
