The European Securities and Markets Authority has renewed the mandates of Klaus Löber as Chair of the Central Counterparties Supervisory Committee, and Nicoletta Giusto and Froukelien Wendt as Independent Members. The renewed terms take effect from 1 December for a five-year period. The CCP Supervisory Committee covers both EU central counterparties (CCPs) and third-country CCPs recognised under the European Market Infrastructure Regulation (EMIR). Its remit includes promoting consistent supervisory standards and convergence among EU national competent authorities, monitoring or supervising recognised third-country CCPs as appropriate, and addressing risks linked to central clearing.
