Ireland's Department of Finance awarded the Economic and Social Research Institute (ESRI) the contract to act as data partner for Ireland’s Women in Finance Charter for the coming year, following a procurement process. The release also linked the contract to direct government support of up to EUR 50,000 announced by Minister Robert Troy in January 2025, positioning the funding and data partnership as enabling the Charter to continue beyond its pilot stage. ESRI has served as the Charter’s research partner for the previous three years. Over that initial period, 104 companies signed the Charter, representing more than 72,000 employees, described as more than half of all employees in Ireland’s financial and insurance sector. The Charter originated under the Ireland for Finance strategy in 2022 to improve female representation in financial services firms operating in Ireland, led by industry bodies including Banking & Payments Federation Ireland, Financial Services Ireland, Insurance Ireland and Irish Funds, with participation from the Department of Finance and other public bodies. With the data partner secured for 2026, the fourth annual report is due to be launched in the summer, with further details and key takeaways to be shared when available.
