The Egypt Financial Regulatory Authority published a statement on the virtual International Organization of Securities Commissions, or IOSCO, Board meeting chaired by its chairman, Islam Azzam, which elected the body's leadership for 2026 to 2028. Jean-Paul Servais, head of Belgium's Financial Services and Markets Authority, was re-elected Board chair for a third term, while Toshiyuki Miyoshi, Grant Vingoe and Mark T. Uyeda were elected vice chairs. Azzam serves as an IOSCO Board vice chair by virtue of chairing the Growth and Emerging Markets Committee. The committee is IOSCO's largest, representing more than 70% of the organization's membership, including 10 Group of Twenty members. The authority linked Egypt's wider role in international bodies to development of regulatory and supervisory frameworks for non-banking financial markets, and said the committee chairmanship helps bring emerging market perspectives into international regulatory discussions and supports the exchange of expertise and supervisory practices.
