The Central Bank of Aruba (CBA) has published a new Government Policy Study, 'Governing from the Future, leading with equity: Policies, prospects, and pathways for Aruba 2040', as the third report in its 'Governing from the Future' series. The publication compiles seven studies focused on how policy decisions affect individuals, families, and communities, including the ability to earn a fair wage, afford basic necessities, live healthy, and work in a safe environment. The studies are grouped into three areas. 'Economic Realities and Social Equity' examines outcomes related to gender equality, the effect of inflation including transportation costs on middle-income households, and youth employment through the lens of labour security beyond simply having a job. 'Foundational Security for Human Flourishing' reviews food security across access, availability, and stability, and considers financial literacy among students in higher education. 'Adapting to a Changing Planet' analyses energy security risks linked to the shift to green energy, including geopolitical, digital, and supply chain risks, and assesses how extreme heat affects workforce health and productivity. The full publication and the individual studies are available to the public via the CBA website.
