The Central Bank of Eswatini has launched the Global Money Week (GMW) 2026 high school competition, inviting schools to submit a pre-recorded theatre play or skit of up to five minutes illustrating real-life financial decision-making under the theme “Smart Money Talks”. Submissions should show how young people can discuss money, identify reliable financial information and avoid misinformation, recognise financial risks, and make smart financial decisions. The competition is open to all legally recognised high schools in Eswatini, with one team per school consisting of three to ten full-time students and a teacher supervisor. Entries must include the video, a one-page summary of the play’s message, and a team list with grade levels, and will be scored out of 100 based on relevance to the theme (30 points), creativity and engagement (30), clarity and message impact (20), effort and execution (10), time management (5) and whether the school is a Junior Achievement member (5). Content must be original and avoid inappropriate language, violence, political content, or misleading financial advice. The bank set cash prizes of SZL 10,000 for first place, SZL 8,000 for second and SZL 5,000 for third, alongside participation certificates, with prize funds to be applied to a school project and followed by feedback on usage. The submission deadline is 06 March 2026, and winners agree their content can be shared and reused by participating organisations for GMW and other financial education activities with acknowledgement; children whose parents or guardians work for specified partner organisations, including the Central Bank of Eswatini and the Financial Services Regulatory Authority, are not eligible.
