The Central Bank of Bolivia presented its book “Economic and Monetary History of Bolivia’s Bicentennial”, which reviews key milestones in the country’s economic and monetary development from 1825 to 2025 as part of the bicentennial commemorations. Structured in eight chapters, the publication covers themes ranging from the disarticulation of the colonial system to contemporary challenges, including periods of crisis and recovery, structural change, exchange-rate regimes and macroeconomic stabilisation strategies. The book adopts an interdisciplinary approach combining perspectives from economists and historians, and includes a section by the acting President of the Central Bank of Bolivia, Edwin Rojas Ulo, focusing on 1986–2025 and highlighting developments such as the Central Bank law, the strength of the payments system and the use of digital platforms to support financial inclusion. The launch took place at an academic event at the Universidad Mayor de San Andrés, with contributions from university representatives and researchers, and the book is aimed at students, academics, researchers, decision-makers and the general public.
