The Isle of Man Financial Services Authority announced a drop-in session on 11 February 2026 in Douglas to support Isle of Man charities that operate internationally and may fall within a proposed new definition of a Specified Non-Profit Organisation (SNPO). The session forms part of outreach linked to the ongoing consultation on the draft SNPO (Countering the Financing of Terrorism) Code 2026, which would modernise the Island’s countering the financing of terrorism framework for the non-profit sector. Officers will be available at the Promenade Methodist Church from 4pm to 7pm to explain the proposed changes, their impact on charities raising or sending funds overseas, and steps to mitigate terrorist financing risks. The Authority highlighted planned support for affected organisations, including a dedicated point of contact, access to free training and template documents, and framed the approach as proportionate and risk-based while aligned with international standards; it also noted there have been no terrorist financing cases involving Isle of Man charities to date.
