The Qatar Financial Centre reported that its participation in Web Summit Qatar 2026 generated approximately 2,300 business licensing applications, up from around 1,600 in 2025, with more than 300 companies completing registration on the QFC platform. Applications were concentrated in digital transformation, fintech, consulting services, project management and innovation-led activities. QFC linked the higher application volume to an incentives package introduced during the Summit, including waiving registration and annual renewal fees for the first three years and offering internationally aligned tax incentives. It also signed several memoranda of understanding to expand its ecosystem, including partnerships with the Global Blockchain Business Council (blockchain, digital assets, tokenisation and related best practices and regulatory perspectives), Aspire Zone Foundation (sports sector initiatives and incentives), Qatar Insurance Company (insurance and risk management solutions), Al Dar Exchange (preferential financial services for QFC-licensed firms and QFCA employees) and Hamad Bin Khalifa University (company registration and post-incorporation support, access to research and technical expertise, intellectual property awareness and market access support).
