The Central Bank of Egypt (CBE), through FinTech Egypt’s FinYology initiative, has launched and hosted the third edition of the FinTech Got Talent 2025 competition with the Federation of Egyptian Banks and the Egyptian Banking Institute to identify and develop innovative FinTech projects from university students. The programme concluded with three winning teams, and two of the finalists subsequently placed first and second in the Arab FinTech Challenge. The competition began with university-level elimination rounds, selecting 11 projects for a one-month programme at the DMZ Cairo incubator to help convert ideas into market-ready solutions. The winners were ESLSCA University’s “Tapay” (turning a smartphone into a contactless payment terminal enabling couriers to accept NFC payments without Point of Sale hardware), the British University in Egypt’s “Money Adventure” (a gamified financial literacy app for children), and Cairo University’s “AgriDawar” (a platform connecting farmers with buyers of agricultural surplus residues using e-payments and e-wallets for transfers). FinYology, launched in 2023, now covers over 30 Egyptian universities and has delivered 900 student-led projects involving around 19,000 students, with support from around 18 banks throughout the year.
