The Bank of Albania has opened the exhibition “Money Talks: 100 years of life and events, Bank of Albania”, presenting archival documents, images and narratives that trace Albania’s economic and monetary journey and the evolution of its central bank and national currency. Hosted at the Bank of Albania’s Headquarters No 2 and organised in collaboration with the Italian Institute of Culture, the exhibition is positioned between the Bank’s centenary in 1925 and the centennial of the first circulation of Albania’s national currency in 1926. Governor Gent Sejko framed the display around three broad historical phases and the Bank’s experience under different monetary regimes, with an emphasis on monetary stability, crisis management and public financial education, and the Bank also unveiled a scholarly work by the late Professor Aristotel Pano on 100 years of the monetary system and central banking in Albania. The exhibition is open until 20 July 2026 and includes accompanying activities and a travelling format, including a planned stop hosted by the Central Bank of the Republic of Kosovo in Pristina.
