Chile’s Financial Market Commission (CMF) has opened a second consultation on a proposal to update reporting requirements under Law No. 20,009 (Fraud Act), covering cases involving loss, theft, robbery and fraud. The draft would amend General Rule No. 487 to align Regulatory File E24 with elements introduced by Law No. 21,673 on the processing of fraud claims and to update the timeframes for regulated entities to submit related information. Compared with the first consultation version, the proposal adds new information fields covering fraud-claim processing requirements, the suspension of processes, and judicial actions issuers may take before Local Police Courts. It also clarifies and adjusts the aggregate information on Law No. 20,009 cases that financial entities must publish on their websites, aligning those disclosures with File E24, and expands reporting to capture a broader variety of cases and new requirements tied to user claims intended to limit user responsibility. Feedback can be submitted through the CMF website’s Regulations Under Consultation section for the next two weeks.
