The Reserve Bank of India issued an update to Lead Bank responsibilities in Rajasthan following the state government’s reorganisation of districts, under which nine districts were merged into 12 existing districts. As a result, RBI revoked the previously notified lead bank responsibilities for the nine erstwhile districts and reviewed the allocations for districts impacted by the changes, while leaving other districts’ lead banks unchanged. The revoked allocations covered Kekri and Shahpura (Bank of Baroda), Anupgarh and Sri Ganganagar’s erstwhile Anupgarh district (Punjab National Bank), Sanchore and Neem ka Thana (State Bank of India), Gangapur City (Bank of Baroda), Dudu (UCO Bank), Jaipur (Rural) (State Bank of India) and Jodhpur (Rural) (ICICI Bank). For the current districts affected by the reorganisation, RBI retained lead bank responsibility for Ajmer, Tonk, Bhilwara, Jhunjhunu, Karauli and Sawai Madhopur (Bank of Baroda), Bikaner and Jalore (State Bank of India), and Sri Ganganagar and Sikar (Punjab National Bank), and recorded modified allocations for Jaipur (State Bank of India) and Jodhpur (ICICI Bank).
