The Central Bank of Slovenia announced the first winners in its Masters of the Digital Future debate project, which it is again running in partnership with the Office of the President of Slovenia. At the primary school selection tournament, the winning teams were Koruza from Domžale Primary School in the beginners category and Dirty All Stars from Tončka Cec Primary School in Trbovlje in the experienced category. The first selection tournament was hosted by Maks Pečar Primary School in Črnuče and brought together 41 teams from 19 primary schools to debate the digital euro. In the beginners final, Koruza beat Telebajski from Tone Cufar Primary School in Maribor, while Dirty All Stars defeated The Empire from the Ihan branch of Domžale Primary School in the experienced category. The programme targets secondary school students and pupils in the last three years of primary school and is set to conclude in May with a grand international final for secondary school students, with other central banks joining. The experienced-category national winner will face peers from Austria, Croatia, Estonia, Montenegro and Slovakia, with President Nataša Pirc Musar participating actively; national winners are also set to receive a prize trip to Zagreb to visit the Croatian central bank and a planned reception at the presidential palace.
