The Central Bank of Cyprus published a recap of the Cyprus Financial Literacy and Education Commission (KEHAP) international conference “Financial Literacy For The Youth: Preparing the Next Generation”, held on 13 March 2025, highlighting efforts to strengthen financial education from an early age and develop sound financial habits among young people as part of Global Money Week. Governor of the Central Bank of Cyprus and KEHAP President Christodoulos Patsalides said the need to strengthen financial literacy in Cyprus is confirmed by findings from the recent Pancyprian Financial Literacy Survey, and stressed that progress depends on coordinated commitment across the state, institutions, universities, businesses and society. The conference featured addresses from President of the Republic Nikos Christodoulides and ministers responsible for education and finance, and concluded with two roundtables on global best practices and Cyprus-focused strategies for youth financial education. Alongside the conference, KEHAP organised thematic workshops for journalists, educators, social institutions and students within Global Money Week to review KEHAP’s work to date and exchange international experiences and good practices. These activities were coordinated by KEHAP’s Coordination and Management Team, which is based at the Central Bank of Cyprus.
