The Financial Action Task Force (FATF) published its Annual Report 2024-2025, summarising the organisation’s work during the first year of the Mexican Presidency of Elisa de Anda Madrazo and its engagement with a global network of more than 200 countries and public and private sector partners. The report highlights work to help countries identify and respond to evolving risks, including reports on online child sexual exploitation, terrorist financing and proliferation financing. It also points to the conclusion of comprehensive evaluations of almost 200 countries’ counter-illicit finance systems, the finalisation of changes to the international requirements on payment transparency under FATF Recommendation 16, and work linked to FATF Recommendation 1 aimed at bringing more people into the formal financial sector.
