The Australian Prudential Regulation Authority has launched a final consultation on substantially revised draft reporting standards for implementing the government’s Retirement Reporting Framework. Following feedback on its March 2026 proposals, APRA has streamlined the data requirements, refined methodologies and definitions, and added a reporting practice guide to support consistent reporting by superannuation trustees. The framework is intended to show how trustees support members navigating retirement and provide consumers, industry and policymakers with greater transparency on the retirement income system. APRA expects to finalize the standards in 2026, begin collecting data in late 2027 and publish the first framework indicators and metrics in 2028. It will work with industry on the design of those publications during 2027.
