The U.S. Senate Committee on Banking, Housing and Urban Affairs published remarks from Chairman Tim Scott at the Wyoming Blockchain Symposium, where he outlined next steps on U.S. digital asset legislation. Scott said that after advancing the GENIUS Act to President Trump’s desk, he plans to move digital asset market structure legislation through the Senate Banking Committee in September. In a fireside chat with FalconX’s Austin Reid, Scott described an active committee agenda of hearings, markups and bill passage, and said the effort is being coordinated with the Trump administration. He linked the policy agenda to creating clearer “rules of the road” to support competition and capital formation, and argued that durable statutory changes are needed rather than relying on executive action. Scott indicated the market structure package is targeted for Senate Banking Committee consideration in September.
