The International Organization of Securities Commissions (IOSCO) has launched a call for applications for its first TechSprint, powered by the UK Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) AI Lab, focused on investor education and helping retail investors navigate financial markets increasingly shaped by artificial intelligence. The application portal will be open from 2 March to 30 April 2026. Selected teams will work on one or both problem statements: helping retail investors identify and avoid AI-enabled fraud and scams, and using technology to educate and empower retail investors to use AI as a finance learning tool while understanding AI-related risks across different regulatory and cultural contexts. IOSCO highlighted accessibility and the potential for alignment across multiple contexts as key design elements. Teams will work virtually over the coming months with mentoring and regular check-ins from IOSCO and its members, and will showcase their projects at an in-person Demo Day in Madrid on 8 October 2026, timed to coincide with the 10th anniversary of World Investor Week.
