The Financial Superintendence of Colombia published a press release on Superintendent César Ferrari’s participation in a forum at Pontificia Universidad Javeriana, where he underscored cooperative financial education as a driver of social and community development and described ongoing financial education efforts with a local cooperative. Ferrari cited Cooperativa Multiactiva Coomproriente in Tibasosa (Boyacá), founded in 1999 and currently with 243 members, and noted that limited knowledge and fear of bank credit had kept the cooperative away from financing options available in the financial system. The training has started with modules on saving, investment, financial consumer rights and duties, and anti-money laundering prevention, and is expected to continue with sessions on interest rates and productive loans for development, among other topics.
