He reported that Croatia’s corporate governance compliance indicators increased from 52% in 2019 to 70% in 2023. The presentation highlighted Hanfa’s role in developing and overseeing compliance with the Croatian Code of Corporate Governance to support higher transparency and accountability. Žigman also pointed to challenges including improving gender balance on boards and committees and the digitalisation of reporting, and framed regulators’ role as both monitoring and educating market stakeholders, with Hanfa and the Zagreb Stock Exchange expected to continue promoting corporate governance standards.
