The Central Bank of the Republic of Kosovo announced that Governor Ahmet Ismaili participated as a panellist at an Executive Forum organised by the World Bank Treasury and the International Development Association, where he outlined Kosovo’s financial-sector and central bank priorities and recent progress. In his remarks, Ismaili highlighted Kosovo’s transition from an IDA aid beneficiary to a donor and pointed to developments including the country’s first sovereign credit rating, the introduction of liquidity management instruments and repo operations, and the modernisation of Kosovo’s payments infrastructure. He also described steps to align Kosovo’s financial sector with European Union standards and deepen regional and international financial integration, and noted reserve-management work undertaken through the World Bank’s Reserve Advisory and Management Partnership, including completing the investment policy, developing a strategic asset allocation approach and reviewing the investment committee. On digital innovation, he referenced progress toward joining the Single Euro Payments Area, expansion of the open banking framework, modernisation of national registers and initiatives aimed at broader financial inclusion.
