The Philippine Securities and Exchange Commission published the outcomes of the 44th ASEAN Capital Markets Forum Chairs’ Meeting, where members approved 2026 workplans, timelines and budgets and began implementing the ACMF Action Plan 2026–2030. The forum also formally launched the ACMF Knowledge Network of Supervision and Enforcement Directors to strengthen cooperation on emerging and cross-border risks, including digital asset-related activities. The action plan includes ASEAN Diamonds, a curated set of well-governed regional companies, as well as studies on cross-listings and depositary receipts and the creation of ASEAN indices. Other priorities cover sustainable finance guidance and standards for external verifiers, stronger cross-border enforcement and information sharing, and the use of emerging technologies for investor protection and cybersecurity. Three new working groups will focus on enforcement and supervision, Islamic finance and market promotion. The chairs also endorsed operationalizing the ACMF Office and welcomed the Asian Development Bank’s readiness to discuss hosting and support arrangements, subject to further agreement and applicable approvals.
