Poland's Ministry of Finance announced that the General Inspector of Financial Information (GIIF) and the Polish Financial Supervision Authority (KNF) have signed a cooperation agreement intended to strengthen coordination between the two bodies, including structured document transfer, information exchange and joint training to support the effectiveness of the financial crime framework. The arrangement includes commitments to align the content of market-facing communications and positions, share identified needs for changes to anti-money laundering and counter-terrorist financing (AML/CFT) rules affecting KNF-supervised obliged entities, and work towards a consistent interpretation of the 1 March 2018 AML Act. It also provides for participation in supervisory colleges aimed at improving AML/CFT compliance and for cyclical, reciprocal training workshops. Information obtained under the agreement is to be used solely for each authority’s statutory tasks, and the agreement takes effect the day after signing for an indefinite period.
