The U.S. House Financial Services Committee announced its Republican leadership slate for the 119th Congress, naming the committee’s vice chairman, subcommittee chairs, and two additional leadership roles. Chairman French Hill also outlined policy priorities for the committee, including changes to the regulatory approach for community banks, development of a digital assets regulatory framework, and increased focus by agencies on their statutory mandates. Rep. Bill Huizenga was appointed Vice Chairman, Rep. Mike Haridopolos was named Committee Whip, and Rep. Mike Lawler was named Vice Chair for Communications. Subcommittee chairs were set as follows: Rep. Ann Wagner (Capital Markets), Rep. Andy Barr (Financial Institutions), Rep. Bryan Steil (Digital Assets, Financial Technology and Artificial Intelligence), Rep. Warren Davidson (National Security, Illicit Finance, and International Financial Institutions), Rep. Dan Meuser (Oversight and Investigations), and Rep. Mike Flood (Housing and Insurance).
