The Australian Securities & Investments Commission has enabled email lodgement for 35 forms that previously required paper submission, aiming to streamline interactions and reduce administrative burden. ASIC also now accepts electronic signatures on approved PDF forms available on its website, including those enabled for email lodgement. The newly enabled email lodgements were selected based on stakeholder feedback and relate to share capital notifications, changes to responsible entities, managed investment schemes, auditor changes, company structure updates and other regulatory lodgements. Paper lodgement by post remains available, and most forms can still be lodged online. To support the transition, ASIC has consolidated document lodgement requirements into a single resource covering forms, lodgement methods and signing requirements. Email lodgement is also available for Forms 201 and 484 only in exceptional cases where online lodgement is not possible due to specified system limitations. ASIC expects to continue expanding email lodgement to additional paper-only documents over time.
