Morocco's Supervisory Authority of Insurance and Social Welfare (ACAPS), the National Authority for Integrity, Prevention and the Fight against Corruption (INPPLC) and the Moroccan Insurance Federation (FMA) convened a sector meeting on corruption risks in insurance and signed a cooperation and partnership agreement to structure joint work to strengthen integrity and transparency. At the meeting, INPPLC and the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) presented a study mapping corruption risks in insurance and reinsurance, highlighting the most exposed areas, weaknesses in existing procedures and operational prevention measures, alongside a call to strengthen monitoring mechanisms and adapt vigilance systems to emerging risks. Discussions on a sectoral action plan focused on reinforcing internal prevention mechanisms, developing training and awareness programmes, establishing reliable and accessible reporting channels, and conducting regular assessments supported by stronger institutional cooperation. The agreement provides for joint initiatives including training programmes, seminars, awareness campaigns, and further studies and risk mapping exercises, and anticipates targeted support for insurance companies to implement effective corruption-prevention systems.
