The Bank of Finland has published its Data Balance Sheet 2025, a review of the central bank’s data and technology that complements its Annual Report from an information management perspective. The publication includes 22 articles and a summary of key figures, and is available in Finnish and English. The Data Balance Sheet is structured across five sections covering data production and use, information management and flows, information security and data protection, and monitoring and key figures. It also describes the expansion of artificial intelligence in public authority and expert work and provides an update on current development projects, with key figures drawing on volume data from content management, online communications and statistical systems; Board member Tuomas Välimäki is quoted describing AI as becoming the “new normal” in the bank’s work.
