Croatia's Ministry of Finance reported that Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Tomislav Coric met European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) President Odile Renaud-Basso in Washington on the margins of the World Bank and International Monetary Fund Spring Meetings. Discussions covered Croatia’s current economic developments and global challenges, with a focus on the impact of geopolitical uncertainty on the EBRD’s countries of operations, while Croatia highlighted full membership of the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) as a key strategic priority. The ministry underscored the long-standing partnership between Croatia and the EBRD, noting that EBRD investment in Croatia totals approximately EUR 5.22 billion across 275 public- and private-sector projects, including in finance, public infrastructure, renewable energy and small and medium-sized enterprises. Renaud-Basso welcomed Croatia’s economic results and reform efforts, confirmed continued EBRD support particularly for the private sector, and pointed to work to strengthen foundations for broader capital market integration across central and south-eastern Europe. Renaud-Basso also briefed the Croatian delegation on planned EBRD activities in the coming period and preparations for the EBRD Annual Meeting in Latvia on 5 to 7 June 2026.
