The Canadian Bankers Association has refreshed the fraud prevention content in its Your Money Students program, a free, non-commercial financial literacy seminar for high school students across Canada, to better help young Canadians identify scams and frauds targeting them. The update was positioned alongside the national Financial Literacy Month campaign theme, Talk About Money. The expanded training covers newer scam tactics affecting youth, including employment and job scams that can draw students into money-laundering schemes, phishing and related variants (smishing and vishing), online gaming scams, catfishing, and artificial intelligence-generated scams using convincing fake voices and identities. Developed in collaboration with the Financial Consumer Agency of Canada, the program is delivered in English and French by volunteer bankers and targets Grade 10–12 students, covering budgeting, saving and investing, responsible use of credit, and keeping money safe in an increasingly digital environment.
