The Central Bank of Chile’s Board has appointed Claudio Raddatz Kiefer as Manager of the Financial Policy Division, a role he will assume on 14 July. He will lead the analysis, design and coordination of macroprudential and regulatory policies, prepare the Financial Policy Meetings, and oversee the Financial Stability Report and the Payments System Report. Raddatz is an industrial civil engineer and holds postgraduate degrees in engineering sciences from the University of Chile and a PhD in economics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He is currently a full professor at the University of Chile’s Faculty of Economics and Business. His prior roles include heading the International Monetary Fund’s Global Financial Stability Analysis Division (2017–2020), serving as Manager of the Central Bank of Chile’s Financial Policy Division (2014–2017) and Economic Research Division (2011–2014), and working as a Senior Economist at the World Bank (2003–2011). The position includes technical coordination with the Ministry of Finance, the Financial Market Commission and other authorities, and advising the Board on financial stability and payment system matters, including assessing systemic risks and proposing measures aligned with the Central Bank’s legal mandate.
