The National Bank of Serbia announced that Governor Jorgovanka Tabakovic, alongside First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance Sinisa Mali, will participate in the International Monetary Fund and World Bank Group Annual Meetings in Washington in October, with Tabakovic leading the delegation in her capacity as Serbia’s Governor at the IMF. The programme includes talks with senior officials from both institutions and bilateral meetings with central banks, financial institutions and foreign investors to discuss investment opportunities, Serbia’s economic potential and ongoing business-environment reforms. The delegation will also attend a meeting of the Switzerland-led constituency to which Serbia belongs and a closed IMF Europe-sector meeting with governors and finance ministers focused on the Central and Eastern Europe economic outlook. Agenda items across the Annual Meetings include global economic developments and prospects, trade tensions, the role of international financial institutions in supporting countries’ economic policies, key risks, policy recommendations for member states, and the IMF and World Bank’s work priorities, alongside meetings of the International Monetary and Financial Committee and the Joint Committee on Development.
