The National Bank of Moldova published a readout of Governor Anca Dragu’s discussions with International Monetary Fund Managing Director Kristalina Georgieva in Dubrovnik, focused on Moldova’s ongoing cooperation with the IMF in support of economic and financial reforms linked to the country’s European Union integration agenda. The meeting also highlighted the recent Financial Sector Assessment Program (FSAP) assessment conducted by the IMF and the World Bank, presented as supporting the strengthening of the banking system and Moldova’s alignment with international standards. Dragu connected the reform progress to measures under Moldova’s National Programme for Accession to the European Union and emphasised expected benefits such as stability and financial protection. Dragu participated in the IMF and Croatian National Bank high-level international conference in Dubrovnik on 29–30 May 2025, which convened Central and South‑Eastern European economic and financial leaders to discuss strategic reforms, economic resilience and European integration.
