Indonesia’s Financial Services Authority (OJK) issued a press release on the closing of the 2025 Islamic Finance Expo and Seminar (EKSiS) in Jakarta, framing the event as part of its efforts to expand sharia financial literacy and inclusion and encouraging greater day-to-day use of sharia financial products and services. EKSiS 2025, described as the culmination of the Sharia Financial Fair (SYAFIF) 2025 series, brought together OJK, ministries and agencies, sharia financial services providers, associations and MSMEs to deliver public education, consultation and access to sharia financial services. OJK cited participation from 37 sharia financial services businesses across banking, capital markets, insurance, guarantees, pawnshops and other financial institutions, and reported 43 education sessions alongside competitions and workshops. Over the event period, OJK recorded 12,893 visitors and 9,489 account openings linked to funding and financing transactions, and noted the role of the Organising Committee for the Sharia Financial Literacy and Inclusion Program (OC LIKS) in coordinating the programme.
