The Turks and Caicos Islands Financial Services Commission announced a donation of essential goods to the Mahala Wynns Empowerment Home in Grand Turk, positioning the contribution as part of its corporate social responsibility activities in support of vulnerable youth. The government-operated safe house provides a structured, trauma-informed environment for at-risk teenage girls aged 12 to 17 and can accommodate up to ten residents, with nine currently in the facility. The donated items were described as practical goods intended to support residents’ daily needs, comfort, and well-being alongside the Home’s provision of schooling, counselling and therapeutic support, family contact, and extracurricular activities. Acting Managing Director Kenisha Bacchus toured the Home on 14 January, and the Director of Social Development, Ashley Adams, highlighted the value of contributions from organisations such as the FSC and encouraged wider community support for programmes that protect children and young people.
