The Central Bank of Russia’s Board of Directors decided to extend the powers of Tatyana Savitskaya as the Financial Consumer Ombudsman for credit cooperation, insurance, and the operations of credit institutions, pawnshops, and non-governmental pension funds, with the extension taking effect from 1 January 2026. The release notes that, under Federal Law No. 123-FZ ‘On the Financial Consumer Ombudsman’, the Financial Ombudsman is appointed by the Bank of Russia Board of Directors for a five-year term on the advice of the Chief Financial Ombudsman. Savitskaya was first appointed to the role on 1 January 2021.
