Moldova’s National Commission for Financial Markets participated in a 22–23 April 2026 study visit in Frankfurt on the regulation and supervision of virtual assets, organised by the OSCE and hosted by the European Central Bank. The exchange brought together experts from Germany’s Federal Financial Supervisory Authority and the EU Authority for Anti-Money Laundering and Countering the Financing of Terrorism. Discussions focused on transposing the Markets in Crypto-Assets Regulation (MiCA), including licensing and monitoring standards for crypto-asset service providers and crypto-asset issuers. The agenda also covered anti-money laundering through risk analysis and typology indicators in virtual-asset transactions, alongside institutional cooperation models intended to support financial integrity, with CNPF positioning the visit as supporting alignment of Moldova’s supervisory framework with European standards.
