The Central Bank of Kuwait has launched the Kuwait Dispute Management System (KDMS), a central platform for submitting, processing and settling disputes arising from financial transactions between participants in Kuwait’s national payment systems. KDMS forms part of the Second Phase of the Kuwait National Payments System Project managed and operated by the Central Bank of Kuwait. KDMS enables electronic dispute handling under standardised procedures and aims to complete dispute settlement within a specified time frame. The platform operates over the secure closed CBK-NET network using virtual private network (VPN) technology and provides an encrypted environment for exchanging dispute messages in line with the ISO 20022 standard for automated, instant financial data transfer. The system follows the launch of the Kuwait Automated Clearing House (KACH) on 5 January 2026 as the start of the project’s second phase. Additional systems are planned for future phases, including the Kuwait Wages Protection System and the Kuwait Electronic Bill Presentment and Payment System.
